Apologies for the hyatis.... Between losing two days on travel and catching a cold I haven't had much to photograph. So today's feature is a sculpture by Botero in front of our closest shopping center. I've loved his pieces since college and am happy to have one a stones throw away!

I had a delightful time in DC and seeing the city through the eyes of a tourist. It's so much nicer when you aren't dealing with traffic!! This mural is in a back alley between the Cosmos Club and the Phillips Collection.

There are definitely some times in life when I feel like I am getting away with something. On my final night in DC I stayed at the Cosmos Club. If you aren't familiar with the city that will mean very little to you, but it's been a source of intrigue since I was a university student. The club has a long a storied membership; there are walls covered with photos of members who have one the Nobel Prize, the Pulitzer Prize and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. And I don't mean one or two, I mean hundreds. I'm here only from the sheer dumb luck of being a member of a reciprocal club. And the 18 year old me hasn't stopped smiling since.

Pansaari, a Peruvian tea shop, recently opened on 17th. They do a spectacular homemade kombucha and have a very cool ambiance to boot. So if you are dc based, check it out!

I am obsessed with Le Pain Quotidien. I have booked my lodging to ensure I am not more than 100 yards from one at any given time. So while I am posting this for Tuesday it could be applicable throughout my trip because I guarantee I'll be stopping in every day. It makes me so very happy.

I saw this guy doing a headstand under one of the rock creek parkway overpasses and it made me smile.

Japan knows what you need at a time like this.
San Francisco 1830 11 April 2015
There's an Art Deco exhibit in the airport. I love this town.

Jim Thompson was an OSS officer who stayed in Thailand after WWII. He is credited for reviving the silk industry here.... His silks were even used as the costumes for the movie The King and I. His gorgeous teak house is one of the big attractions in the city, where you can see how the silk is made and of course hit the gift shop.

Movers arranging our stuff. The new house is a loft style so there are huge ceilings and windows in the living room. Now I just have to unpack it all.... Ugh.....
